Programme Highlights
The term ‘Circular
Economy’ is becoming familiar to an increasing number of businesses. It expresses an aspiration to get more value
from resources and waste less, especially as resources come under a variety of
pressure – price-driven, political and environmental. Delivering the circular economy bring direct
costs savings, reduces risk, bring reputational advantages and can therefore be
a market differentiator.
During this
seminar the speakers will explain the basic concept of Circular Economy and why
organizations should move to this business model in the future. Some case studies, including one from an
international enterprise which will be provided in detail, will be presented to
show how this concept can create values for stakeholders in various fields.

About
the Speaker
Mr. Harry LI is the current president of the Institute of
Industrial and Systems Engineers (Hong Kong Chapter). He has been working as
a consultant for over 25 years mainly on selling
and customisation of industrial engineering software and related consulting services for
manufacturing and service industries.
Harry was graduated in University of California, Berkeley with Bachelor
degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) and he also
received Master degree in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management
(IEIM) in the University of
Hong Kong. During these years Harry has
done manufacturing and logistics systems simulation and production scheduling projects
for a number of big companies such as Johnson Electric, Flextronics, Mass
Transit Railway and Hewlett Packard.
Other than his main job,
Harry is regularly invited as
a visiting lecturer by universities in Hong Kong to teach IE courses for
undergraduate and post-graduate student. Other than teaching Harry also served as a mentor for the department of
Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management department of HKUST.
Other than his role in IISE(HK) Harry is also an expert member of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES).
Ir. Axel CHEUNG, Vice
President South China operations in Li & Fung. Axel holds a MBA, M.Sc
- TQM from Sheffield Hallam University UK, Chartered Quality Professional from UK, member
of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Hong Kong Logistics Association and
APICS.Axel previously worked in Philips and lived in China, Europe managing
both Supply Chain and IT function.
