Floating Point Gate Array (FPGA) application in Artificial Intelligence and the adoption into machinery cluster operation

Date, time & venue

2017-11-17;6:30pm-8:00pm;Chan Yat Mei Sophie Room – 9/F

Organized by

Manufacturing & Industrial Division

Programme Highlights

A field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is an integrated circuit designed to be configured by a customer or a designer after manufacturing – hence "field-programmable". FPGAs contain an array of programmable logic blocks, and a hierarchy of reconfigurable interconnects that allow the blocks to be "wired together", like many logic gates that can be inter-wired in different configurations. Logic blocks can be configured to perform complex combinational functions, or merely simple logic gates like AND and XOR.

Artificial Intelligence infiltrates industries, such as military, high speed production, shopping mall controls and transportation system. The low power consumption is stunning the world of micro devices.

In this technical seminar, the latest application of FPGA in Artificial Intelligence is elaborated. The extension into machinery clustering is evaluated to pave way for next generating in Smart City and the evolution of Reconfigurable Devices.

Language: Cantonese (supplemented with English Terms)
