Programme Highlights

Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology is not far away from us, which has been widely adopted in high-value-added industrial sectors such as Aerospace and Automotive industries and highly customized product manufacturing such as medical and healthcare applications as well as advanced mould and tool production. In this seminar, the expert from a well-known metal AM company will share his view and practical experience on the topic.

Dr Edwin Mok, Research Supervisor & Application Engineer, SLM Solutions Singapore Pte Ltd

 

About the Speaker 

Dr Mok started his manufacturing engineering life at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) since 1996. After his graduated in BEng (Hons) and MEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering, he then joined Robert Bosch Co. Ltd Automation Department as an application engineer. 

Dr. Mok completed his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering, University of Nottingham in 2007, majoring in laser deposition in titanium alloys. Then, he joined ICE A/S, dedicated in life science industry as project manager. After 3 year in industry, Dr. Mok joined the HKPU and Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology and focused on laser surface modification and joining technologies respectively. In, 2011, Dr. Mok then joined the University of Nottingham Ningbo China as assistant professor and focused on laser additive manufacturing technology. 

In 2015, he went back to industry and working with SLM Solutions AG as research supervisor and application engineer in powder bed based additive manufacturing technologies until now.
