Notice of the 44TH Annual General Meeting (AGM)
NOTICE
IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 44th Annual General Meeting of the Manufacturing, Industrial & Systems
Division will be held
on Wednesday, 26 April
2023 at 6:30pm at Chun
Wo and Hsin Chong Rooms, the HKIE Headquarters, 10/F Island Beverley, No
1 Great George Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, for the following purposes:
1.
To
receive and confirm the Minutes of the 43rd AGM.
2.
To
receive and adopt the Annual Report of the Division for Session 2022/2023.
3.
To
receive and adopt the Financial Statement of the Division for Session 2022/2023.
4.
To
elect the Chairman and Ordinary Members of the Division Committee for Session
2023/2024.
5.
To
elect the Council Member (Division) for Sessions 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.
In case of adjournment of the AGM, members of
the Division shall check on the Institution’s website at http://www.hkie.org.hk and the Division’s website at http://mi.hkie.org.hk of the revised venue, time and date for the
adjourned AGM.

Nominations for
Division Chairman, Ordinary Members and
Council Member (Division)
Division Chairman
The outgoing Division Committee has decided
to nominate Ir Dr Eric LIU Sai Lok for election as the Chairman for Session 2023/2024.
No other nomination has been
received from members by the nomination deadline.
Ordinary Members - under Clause 7.2(c) of the Division Rules
The outgoing Division Committee has decided
to opt for the maximum of 14 Ordinary Members, and eight Ordinary Members in the Committee
shall retire by end of the Session, namely Ir Dr MAK Shu Lun, Ir
Peter CHOW Hin Yan, Ir Timothy LEE Kin Sang, Ir Dr Jackson TANG Chi Shing, Ir Ricky WU Siu Wa,
Ir Andy YEUNG Kong Choi, Ir Wilson LI Kar Kit and Ir Angel WONG Yuen Yee.
Following the retirement of the above
Ordinary Members, there are eight vacancies for the Ordinary Members.
The Division Committee has decided to
nominate the following six candidates for the Ordinary Members for a three-year
term: Ir Dr MAK
Shu Lun, Ir Peter CHOW Hin Yan, Ir Timothy LEE Kin Sang, Mr Raymond SHAN Ming
Yin, Ir
Kenneth PAK Chun Wai and Ir John CHOW Hon Kong.
The Division Committee has
received three nominations for Ordinary Members by the nomination deadline: Ir
Prof Louis F S LOCK, Ir Louis CHING Ming Tat and Mr Ronstar Ferris POON.
Since the number of nominations
exceeds the number of vacancies, a ballot shall be held.
Ordinary Members -
under Clause 7.2(d) of the Division Rules (i.e. Ordinary Member of the
Committee who is of 35 years of age or below)
Two Ordinary Members in the Committee shall retire by end of the
Session, namely Ir Michelle NG Tsz
Wing and Miss
Eunice KWOK Lok Yee.
Following the retirement of the above
Ordinary Members, there are two vacancies for the Ordinary Members.
The Division
Committee has decided to nominate the following two candidates for
the Ordinary Members for a three-year term: Ir Michelle NG Tsz
Wing and Ir Jack
LI Ka Ho.
No other nomination has been
received from members by the nomination deadline.
Council Member (Division)
The outgoing Division Committee has decided
to nominate Ir Norman CHAN Sin Wing for election as Council Member (Division)
for Sessions 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.
No other nomination has been
received from members by the nomination deadline.
