Chairman’s Message (Session 2025/2026) 

I am truly honored to be re-elected as the Chairman of the Manufacturing, Industrial & Systems Division (MISD) for the 2025-2026 session. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Past Chairmen, Committee Members, and all dedicated helpers for your invaluable contributions this past year. Special thanks to the Discipline Advisory Panel (DAP) for their support in achieving "Professional Title" qualification recognition from the Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society, broadening our engineers' career pathways.

Over the past year, we have achieved remarkable milestones, enhanced our professional development and fostered collaboration within our industry. Our division engaged a MOU with Hong Kong Federation of Innovation Technologies and Manufacturing Industries (FITMI) for propelling new industrialisation and driving new membership. At the technologies promotion, we invited Mainland and Germany renowned professionals to speak at our Annual Conference and Annual Dinner to keep us abreast of the future trend of technologies.

As we move forward, I am excited to announce our initiatives focused on “AI-enabled Manufacturing” which will drive manufacturing into a new chapter realizing the new mode of production in Hong Kong. The integration of AI will be able to optimize product design, manufacturing processes, quality assurance, system compliance, etc. This shift will significantly enhance the professional competencies of future engineers based on the newly emerging Body of Knowledge (BoK²), equipping them with essential skills and competencies for coping with the future industrial development. We will provide hands-on training continuously for our members to incorporate AI solutions across the entire product realization process. Additionally, we aim to partner with leading technology firms to adopt innovative AI applications that promote efficiency and sustainability to various manufacturing sectors for timely upgrade.

Our slogan, "Empowering New Industrialisation, the Future is Engineered", encapsulates our vision as we embrace these advancements. Together, we can shape the future of manufacturing and positively impact our industry.
